Braveland Wizard

The game brings a continuation to a well-received hybrid of a turn-based strategy and an RPG. Braveland Wizard was created by Tortuga Team and casts the player in the role of a female Magic Academy student who sets out on a journey out of hunger for adventure.

PC iOS AND WP

Braveland Wizard for PC, AND and etc. brings a continuation to Braveland (2014) – a turn-based strategy game set in a fantasy world. The follow-up was also created by the Russian Tortuga Team and similar to the original game, it debuted on PCs and mobile devices at nearly the same time.

Plot & Mechanics

The second installment does not introduce any changes to the mechanics, instead offering a different plot along with a completely new protagonist. This time, the player assumes the role of a female Magic Academy adept whose hunger for adventure eventually makes her set out for an epic journey which begins in mountain peaks covered with snow, and ends deep in the South. On her way, the protagonist faces hordes of orcs, ghosts and dangerous nomads.

The gameplay formula present here brings the Heroes of Might & Magic series into mind, though in this game, the mechanics are slightly simpler in their structure. Thus the player explores the map, completes subsequent story-based quests, talks to NPCs and takes part in turn-based battles that constitute an inherent part of the experience. During the encounters, the player commands the characters recruited along the progression.

In combat, both sword and magic is used, apart from different special abilities of one's characters. Different bonuses can be found in certain maps and those can be used when fighting. Depending on the amount of damage taken, the player is rewarded with an adequate sum of money, which can be spent on upgrades or equipment. The protagonist can carry four kinds of items at the same time, as well as learn spells that originate in three different schools of magic. The player obtains additional skill points with the experience gained. The stronger the protagonist gets, the more effective the characters she controls are.

Technical aspects

In terms of the visual style applied, Braveland Wizard for PC, AND and etc. is nearly identical to its predecessor. The maps are filled with lively, bright colors. When it comes to both character models and different objects, those employ a specific, cartoonish art style.
