Nindie Spotlight: 5.5 / 10 by Justin Nation
Starting with the positive each campaign will charge you with amassing a relatively small army of units as you progress through a relatively simple story...
Gaming Nexus: 7.4 / 10 by Russell Archey
Braveland Trilogy is a fairly solid set of games, simplistic as they may be. You can adjust the difficulty during the game so you can make it as easy or as difficult as you wish at any time. While it would have been nice if the games were at least a bit more complex, keep in mind that these are ports of mobile games so the simplicity makes sense here. Even still, if you want a complex strategy game, you might want to look elsewhere but if you're okay with simple, Braveland Trilogy is worth checking out.
RPGamer: 3.5 / 5 by Anna Marie Privitere
Braveland Trilogy is ultimately a game that is sunk and buoyed by its earlier rough edges and eventual success.
Braveland Trilogy Description
Braveland Trilogy is a compilation of three turn-based strategy games with RPG elements, which includes the following titles: Braveland, Braveland Wizard and Braveland Pirate. The independent studio Tortuga Team is responsible for its development - creators of the whole cycle, drawing on the achievements of such brands as Heroes of Might and Magic or King's Bounty.
Plot
The main character of Braveland is a young warrior, who is the only one who survived the attack of bandits on his hometown. The protagonist swears revenge on the criminals and embarks on a journey to bring them to justice. In Braveland Wizard the player takes on the role of a passionate adept at the Academy of Magic with a desire for adventure, whose aim is to travel through a fantasy land and face the dangers lurking in it. The trilogy closes with Braveland Pirate, the main character of which is Captain Jim; the protagonist and his crew reach the Free Islands archipelago, where they intend to find an ancient treasure.
Mechanics
In the games forming the Braveland Trilogy set, the action was shown from bird's eye view. While playing, we travel around the world (indicating the locations we want to visit on the map), we talk to its inhabitants and carry out tasks for them, but also face adversaries.
The clashes of a relatively small scale take place in turn-based mode, in arenas covered with hexagonal grid; what is interesting, it is only in the third installment of the series that the main character takes an active part in them - in the previous two, the protagonists only supported their subordinates. As we progress, we gain experience points and unlock new skills, gradually developing the combat potential of both the hero and individual units.
Game modes
The pillar of each game in Braveland Trilogy is the story campaign. However, the set also has been enriched with a PvP-based multiplayer mode, in which players can play matches on a common screen.
Technical aspects
Two-dimensional graphics of Braveland Trilogy games are kept in an eye-catching, cartoonish style and colorful palette. It is complemented by catchy, folk music.
