Blood Bowl: Death Zone Description
Blood Bowl: Death Zone is an unusual sports game set in fantasy climates - more specifically the iconic universe of Warhammer. We play games based roughly on the principles of American football, controlling teams of fantastic creatures such as dwarves and orcs. Cyanide Studio, known from Styx: Shards of Darkness, Mordheim: City of the Damned and other games from the Blood Bowl series, is responsible for creating this production.
Mechanics
Blood Bowl: Death Zone is a sports game in which we control teams of several players (with several teams to choose from) and play matches, the rules of which are more or less similar to American football. The pitch is usually observed from top-down perspective, and the players are controlled using the mouse.
The difference between Blood Bowl and the real sport is that matches are incomparably more brutal and often end up tragically for the players. The players we control may belong to one of several fantasty races and have different manoeuvres and special abilities, which can be used during a match. Attention should be paid above all to especially strong star players, whose presence on the pitch can have a significant influence on the course of the game.
Cyanide's game also has a certain tactical depth - we have the ability to choose a formation and make changes in the line-up, among other things.
Game modes
Blood Bowl: Death Zone is designed for multiplayer mode.
Technical aspects
Blood Bowl: Death Zone features nice three-dimensional visuals that fit in well both with Warhammer's gloomy world and the madness typical of Blood Bowl. Player models are detailed, stadiums look good, and special attacks are characterized by considerable spectacularity.
