Blasphemous II is a sequel to the 2019 action platformer, crowdfunded by the players and developed by an indie studio The Game Kitchen. The game is difficult and reminiscent of the Souls series, yet also features platforming elements.
Plot
The game is set in Cvstodia, a grim world ruled by superstition and religious fanaticism. The main protagonist is, once again, The Penitent One, fighting the forces holding dominion over the land. The plot is not conveyed directly - we must put it together ourselves through environmental clues.
Mechanics
Blasphemous II's core gameplay loop consists of difficult enemy encounters. Alongside regular foes we'll face powerful bosses with unique movesets. The game is presented as a 2D platformer. As we progress, we upgrade our character, becoming stronger and gaining more ways to fight enemies.
Technical aspects
The game features high-quality 2D pixel art visuals, with impressive enemy designs and attack animations.
