Blake and Mortimer: The Tables of Babylon Description
Mortimer and Blake is a series of comics, created in the mid 1940s by Belgian cartoonist Edgar P. Jacobs. The popularity of the brand, which has remained unwavering for almost 70 years, was decided to use the Nemopolis studio team to create a game based on the adventures of the title characters.
Blake and Mortimer: The Tables of Babylon was set in 1956. The attention of governments in Paris, London and Tel Aviv is attracted by the events in Egypt, the Suez Crisis. Meanwhile, several outstanding archaeologists die in mysterious circumstances. Detective tandem - Francis Blake and Philip Mortimer suspect that deaths were not accidental. The protagonists start an investigation, which leads them to different corners of the world connected with the beginnings of literature and civilization.
As befits a classic adventure, the game interface is based on the point-n-click mechanism. Controlling the actions of the title pair of heroes, the player explores the locations, speaks to NPCs and solves puzzles. The latter are dominated by logical puzzles in the form of uncomplicated mini-games, e.g. puzzles, breaking codes or quizzes.
The visual layer of Blake and Mortimer: The Tables of Babylon clearly refers to the legacy of Edgar P. Jacobs. The developers decided to use two-dimensional graphics in a comic book style, which was enriched with simple animations.
