Bioid Description
Bioid is an artistic puzzle adventure game in which we explore a multidimensional library. It was developed by Pagurus studio, which independently released its production.
Plot
The action of Bioid takes place in a cosmic library managed by an owl-like creature. It's a place full of books leading to unusual worlds or allowing to meet amazing, funny or powerful creatures.
However, not all of the library's "inhabitants" are friendly. When the King of Thorns escapes from the Book of Worlds, multiple dimensions begin to intermingle and worlds are overrun by parasitic thorns. It's on the egg-like Little-bit to catch the fugitive, though in the process the little hero will cause quite a bit of chaos in the cosmic library.
Game mechanics
Despite its unusual setting, Bioid is almost a classic point-and-click adventure game. We lead the hero through surreal locations, where we find unusual NPCs and puzzles to solve. We perform all actions by pointing and clicking on interesting objects.
The game does not lack decisions to make, which will eventually lead the player to one of several endings.
Technical aspects
Bioid uses hand-drawn 2.5D graphics and an unusual cartoon style, which seems to combine classic black and white animation with the works of the Japanese Ghibli studio. Objects and characters change shape in unusual ways, and the locations are full of fantastic, otherworldly sights.
