Big Pharma: Marketing & Malpractice is an expansion for the 2015’s economy simulation game Big Pharma for PC. Both productions were developed by Twice Circled. The add-on requires the vanilla game to order to run.

Mechanics

Big Pharma: Marketing & Malpractice for PC introduces the player to a company of employees of the marketing branch, to whom ethical rules are as alien as it gets. Apart from designing standard advertisements, they can, for example, give expensive gifts to doctors so that they prescribe our products instead of those manufactured by the competition. It is also possible to play really dirty by organizing social campaigns to convince people that they are sick and only our medicines can cure them.

Another novelty includes clinical testing that allows us to test our products before releasing them to the market. Good results provide us with bonuses, and the bad ones have a terrible effect on our company’s reputation. Of course, the game offers a risky but potentially very profitable option of falsifying the results.

Moreover, Marketing & Malpractice allows the players to manually set the prices of medicines. It allows us to, for example, to sell them below the production costs to drive the financially weaker competition to bankruptcy. If we succeed, having a monopoly will enable us to drastically raise the prices since the sick people, devoid of an alternative, will be forced to buy our products.

Big Pharma: Marketing & Malpractice also expands the list of elements that our plants can be equipped with. These can provide us with a rapid transportation of medications between buildings, allow us to strengthen the production’s performance, and to control the production speed in detail in order to adjust it to the market needs. Furthermore, the game is enriched by perks, which are unique traits of our company that significantly influence our later activities.
