Behind the Screen is an adventure game enriched with elements taken from action and stealth genres. The title was developed by the independent 18Light Game studio.
Story
Behind the Screen takes place in Taiwan in the 1970s, shortly after the end of martial law. Players follow a man accused of murdering his father and accompany him at various moments in his life that led to the incident.
The story, full of metaphors and hidden chapters, has been told in such a way as to encourage the player to reflect on how the media can destroy a person; the people hiding behind the titular screen are often judges who hand down judgments based on one-sided arguments.
Mechanics
In Behind the Screen the action is shown from a camera perspective placed high above the character's head. The game revolves primarily around solving logical and environmental puzzles. However, the gameplay is diversified by the chapters in which we hide or run away from our opponents and take part in skirmishes. The events of the game will last for about two hours in total.
Technical issues
Behind the Screen's two-dimensional graphics are stylistically grounded in hand-drawn Taiwanese posters and advertisements.
