FPP action RPG, developed for virtual reality sets. In Behemoth, we play a wanderer who travels through a frigid land and hunts the giants called behemoths that reign over the land.
Behemoth is an action RPG developed by Skydance Interactive, known for the warmly received The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. It was developed with virtual reality sets in mind.
Plot
Behemoth takes us on a journey to a bleak fantasy land known as the Forsaken Lands. This once vibrant and beautiful area changed beyond recognition when it was struck by a mysterious plague; through it, cities began to fall into ruin and people - into madness. We take on the role of a sickly wanderer who roams the territory and hunts giants called behemoths, trying to find a cure for the disease consuming the land and its inhabitants.
Mechanics
In Behemoth the action is observed from a first-person perspective (FPP). Traversing the ice-covered locations, we are mainly engaged in fighting with enemies. Clashes are dynamic, and during them we use mainly the sword and a rope with a hook, which allows the protagonist, among other things, to attract enemies to himself or use elements of the environment against them (for example, thanks to it the protagonist can throw heavy rocks on their heads). From time to time we also have the ability to act silently and eliminate enemies by surprise. The behemoths, on the other hand, act here as bosses. Due to their enormous size, in order to defeat them it is necessary to climb on their bodies (here again a rope with a hook comes in handy); for only in this way can we reach their weak points. The rope is also indispensable to us during exploration, as it makes it easier for us to cross chasms or get to places inaccessible by standard methods.
Technical aspects
Behemoth features high-quality graphics. Especially the designs of the behemoths are impressive.

Game Rant: 9 / 10 by Dalton Cooper
Behemoth is a breathtaking VR action-adventure game that is a must-buy for anyone with a compatible virtual reality headset.
TheSixthAxis: 7 / 10 by Gareth Chadwick
Ultimately Behemoth is a good VR combat game that's a bit too easy, and with its impressively huge boss battles too few in number. Whilst the combat and exploration is enjoyable enough, the puzzling is too simple and, in a game about killing giants, you'd expect there to be a few more giants.
Push Square: 4 / 10 by Aaron Bayne
Ultimately, Skydance's Behemoth feels like it's still in its beta phase. The enormity of its Behemoths works excellently in VR, but at almost every turn, the game bogs you down with bugs, repetitive gameplay loops, and underdeveloped level design. Sadly, it also lacks the same sense of place that the developer's previous work has, with its Forsaken Lands feeling painfully dull for the most part. There are moments when the magic shines through, but Behemoth is a massive missed opportunity overall.
