Bears Can’t Drift!? is a racing game for PS4 and PC, developed by Strangely Name Studio for a younger audience.
Game mechanics
In Bears Can’t Drift!?, we compete in unusual cart races, with one of eight titular bears as drivers. We can choose from twelve varied tracks, starting with variants of forest stages, through fairy-tale-like areas filled with atmosphere of the Far East, ending with winter sceneries.
Quite obviously, players try to reach the finish line before other competitors, either through fair-play racing or by using power-ups located on the track. This last approach let us use Salmon to attack racer in front of us, Bees to interrupt player behind us, Hedgehog to shield us from enemies and Bird giving us rapid speed boost. We can also combine those items to get more powerful effects. This is complemented by accessible driving model, stressing out on passing through turns with sliding.
Game modes
Bears Can’t Drift!? for PS4 and PC let us play by ourselves or with our friends, the latter in form split-screen mode for up to four players. Available types of game include campaign, single race, time trial and the so called Picnic – an area battle for picnic baskets.
Technical aspects
Bears Can’t Drift!? is based on Unreal Engine 4 technology, meaning it presents players with good-quality, three-dimensional visuals in fairy-tale-like and good-looking style.
