Battle Academy: Fortress Metz is an addition to the Battle Academy wartime turn-based strategy published in 2009. Prepared by Slitherine Studio, the extension includes a 10 scenario campaign for single-player mode, as well as a package of 4 maps for skirmishes involving a live opponent.

Battle Academy: Fortress Metz is the sixth addition to the Battle Academy game, which is very popular among fans of classic turn-based strategies. Developers from Slitherine studio once again reached for proven solutions, offering players to take part in one of the famous military operations from the Second World War.

The background to the expansion is the struggle for the French city of Metz in 1944. According to historical realities, the American forces under General George Patton's command from September to December 1944 besieged the heavily fortified positions of Germans under General Otto von Knobelsdorff's command.

The one-man campaign consists of 10 missions, in which the player leads American troops of the 3rd Army, showing, among others, battles with German armoured brigades and desperate attempts of infantry and engineering troops to conquer forts. Plugin also contains 4 maps for battles with live opponents, 3 of which were recreated based on authentic battlefield situations.
