The B-17 Flying Fortress differs greatly from other simulators. The player is not the only passenger of the plane, but part of a ten-person crew, each member of which (controlled by a computer) is responsible for performing the tasks assigned to him/her. Of course, at any time you will be able to replace one of your companions and take over their duties, but you are not able to be in several places at the same time. That's why the commands you give will have a huge impact on the fate of the whole crew and the machine.
