Azure Reflections is a bullet hell shooter representing the Touhou Project series. As we begin the game, we play as one of three girls with supernatural powers and face hordes of enemies coming from all directions. The game was designed in a manga style.

Azure Reflections is a shoot'em up game maintained in a bullet hell shooter convention. The title was developed by Souvenir Circ. and is a part of the Touhou Project series, which was created by Team Shanghai Alice, a one-man studio.

Story

Azure Reflections takes us on a journey to the fantasy land of Gensokyo, which is separated from the real world by a magical barrier. The people who live there and the individuals who possess supernatural powers must join forces to deal with the evil that threatens the world.

Mechanics

In Azure Reflections the action is shown from the side. During the game we take control over one of three fearless girls, each of which has been granted a special skill. The game revolves around traversing locations and eliminating hordes of enemies, among which you will find a group of powerful bosses. As we progress, we collect tokens, which we can exchange for various accessories; the latter not only change the appearances of the female protagonists, but also provide them with various bonuses, such as the capacity for fully automatic fire.

Game modes

In addition to the story-orientated campaign, Azure Reflections has two more modes. The first is the Practice Mode, where we practice clashes against bosses, and the second is the Tutorial Mode, where we get to know the rules of the game.

Technical issues

The two-dimensional graphics of Azure Reflections are kept in a colorful, manga style. Our struggles are accompanied by a soundtrack that seeks to warm us up to battle.
