Very nicely performed races. We sit at the helm of quads, or four-wheeled motorcycles, racing in very difficult terrain. Attention should be paid to the refined three-dimensional graphic design.
ATV Thunder: Ridge Riders Description
ATV Thunder: Ridge Riders is a game offering the possibility of using the title vehicles. These are, of course, quads, i.e. four-wheeled motorcycles, designed to move more efficiently and at the same time more comfortably on very difficult terrain. At the same time, it can be said that this product is in direct competition with Acclaim's ATV Quad Power Racing series. The main differences concern in particular the graphics. Ridge Riders is one of the most visually refined products that was decided to opt for a Nintendo portable console. This is mainly due to the backward view, which is typical of "full-fledged" racing games. Of course, this means that the competition is played in a fully three-dimensional environment, which is rare in the case of titles published on a GBA console. Destination Software studio is responsible for the preparation of this game, which has also developed such titles as M&M's Break' Em or Monster Trucks Mayhem.
This product has three basic play modes to offer. Quick Game gives you the opportunity to play a quick race, albeit according to your own rules. The player chooses, among other things, a route, a vehicle or finally decides how many opponents they would like to race with. Timed Checkpoint, on the other hand, is based entirely on overcoming successive control goals, while remaining within the time limit set by the game. However, the key point of the programme is a fully fledged career. We have several dozen different races to play here. As a reward for further achievements, there is a possibility to unlock new quads or obtain more valuable parts. These may include new tyres, engine components or sports springs. The competition is held on one of several tracks. The player has quite a lot of freedom of action, being able to deviate from the fixed route. At the same time, beware of holes, rocks and other obstacles of this type. ATV Thunder: Ridge Riders has quite a standard multiplayer for two people.
