Assemble with Care

Assemble with Care is a puzzle game realized as an interactive diary. The game was developed by an independent studio ustwo games, known for its bestselling Monument Valley series.

Plot

The main character of Assemble with Care is Maria, a world traveling antique restorer, who arrives in the sunny town of Bellariva. She decides to help its residents to repair their old and ruined belongings. At the same time, she gets to know each of the residents better, so she can also support them in solving their problems.

Mechanics

The main element of the Assemble with Care is to solve puzzles consisting in repairing various objects. Although the initial puzzles are not complicated (for example, we have to replace the batteries in the walkman and stretch the tape in the cassette), with time they become more and more difficult, requiring us to disassemble watches, cameras or "electronic games", replace damaged components and then put everything together. Between the riddles we listen to Maria's story and gradually get to know the stories and problems of the residents of Bellariva.

Technical aspects

The hand-drawn graphic design of Assemble with Care was maintained in a colourful impressionist-inspired style. A soundtrack based on music from the 1980s was composed for the game.
