Arma III: Contact is the add-on to the tactical shooter, which enriches it with a new sci-fi campaign. The story revolves around first contact with an alien civilization. Expansion offers new territory, additional vehicles and previously unavailable weapons and equipment. There were also some fresh multiplayer scenarios.
Arma III: Contact is an add-on to the tactical shooter Arma III. Both the expansion and the base game were developed by Bohemia Interactive studio.
Plot
Contant is an unusual add-on to the Arma III because it adds elements of science fiction to the realism known from the base game. The expansion offers the First Contact story campaign. Players take on the role of Aiden Rudwell, a NATO drone operator, who takes part in the training of this organisation in the fictitious Polish-speaking country of Livonia. When a giant alien ship flies into the Earth's atmosphere, the hero is sent on a reconnaissance mission to discover the strength and intent of the aliens.
Mechanics
The main attraction of Arma III: Contact is the new story campaign. It offers a wide variety of challenges. During the game, players must, among other things, conduct field research, engage in combat and perform reconnaissance missions.
Players have at their disposal 163 square kilometers of Livonia filled with many objects inaccessible in the base game and previous add-ons.
Apart from the Livonia Defence Forces, players will also meet Specnaz in the country. The soldiers of each of these factions have unique uniforms and new faces. There were also Polish and Russian radio protocols. In addition, there are five additional weapons, two vehicles, and previously unavailable equipment.
Game modes
Apart from the campaign, the expansion also offers new scenarios for multiplayer matches, set in Livonia.
Technical aspects
Contact is not an independent expansion, so one needs the base game to play it. It is worth mentioning that some of the elements of the add-on, such as cosmetics or NATO forest camouflage, were made available for free to all Arma III owners as part of the update.
