Another add-on to Anno 1800, an economic strategy game developed by Ubisoft . Seeds of Change introduces a new scenario in which we play as Vasco de Oliveira, dealing with silver mining.
Seeds of Change is the tenth DLC for Anno 1800, an economic strategy game by Ubisoft. The add-on was developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte studio, authors of the main version of the game and previous expansions.
Plot
The add-on introduces a new scenario to the game called "Season for Silver". Its main character is Vasco de Oliveira, who was sent by the crown to the island of Deserto de Prata to organize silver mining there. As with the other scenarios, this plot is just a simple explanation for the change of environment and the introduction of new mechanics to the game.
Game mechanics
The expansion focuses on expanding the available options rather than changing the gameplay completely. Island, on which we will operate, has desert climate and during monsoon season it is flooded by huge amounts of water. Developing our settlement we have to take care of proper irrigation systems and skillfully use old settlements scattered around Deserto de Prata.
Using fertilizers we increase the amount of harvested crops, which strengthens the independence of island's inhabitants and provides them with proper food. We were also given a new type of building at our disposal: the hacienda. It serves as a production center for many goods, opening access to more efficient farms, warehouses and a brewery, thanks to which we can produce a drink previously unknown in the New World: beer. All buildings can also be decorated with special cosmetic items, such as flowerbeds.
Technical aspects
Seeds of Change requires the main game of Anno 1800 to work and does not introduce any changes to the audiovisual setting.
