America's Army: True Soldiers Description
America's Army: True Soldiers is a first person tactical action game. This is another installment of a PC game series, which may be called an interactive advertisement of the US Army. It is noteworthy that True Soldiers was prepared by Red Storm Entertainment, the creators of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2. AA: TS even uses the same YETI Engine as the other game.
The game is focused on multiplayer for up to 16 people; however, single player serves as a good introduction to this type of gameplay. You can select one of the five soldier’s roles, including Rifleman, Grenadier, and Sniper. Each character is developed according to four main military abilities (e.g. courage, concentration, and accuracy), through accumulation of experience points earned by completing training missions. If you want, you may always choose online training based on competition with others.
Online multiplayer features 8 various maps created in close cooperation with American military advisors. The most fun comes out of good teamwork. After each mission, you give your mates respect points, which determine player’s position in the game rank. The game hierarchy is modeled on real army, so thanks to advancing to higher ranks, you earn new emblems, etc. Progress comes from proper handling of arms, good cooperation with other soldiers, and wise use of supporting technologies. The latter include, e.g. RQ-11 Raven, a small remote-controlled unmanned aerial vehicle used for recon.
