A mobile puzzle/educational game from Spry Fox studio, in which the players must assemble words out of blocks with letters. After aligning one, the titular bears appear in slots where the block were, unlocking more blocks and giving various bonuses in points. As the game progresses, bears become bigger and bigger, greatly increasing our score.

Alphabear is an educational puzzle game for AND, PC and iOS, in which players make words with available letter blocks. It is a work of American studio Spry Fox, who developed title like Road Not Taken and Triple Town, and distributed as free-to-play title, with virtual currency being replaced with honey.

Game mechanics

As said before, Alphabear’s gameplay comes down to making words using letter that are given by the game, resulting in titular bears appearing that unlock more blocks. As the game progresses, bears overtake the entire screen and combine into bigger ones, giving more bonuses that can be used in future games. The problem is that every letter remains on the field for a limited number of turns (with each round being defined as one word being made). If players fail to use a block, it stays on the board, limiting the growth of bears.
