Alliance: The Silent War is a first person perspective shooter. The action of the game focuses on the fate of the family, whose members have been marrying a soldier for generations. As the next heroes, we take part in armed conflicts taking place over ninety years, from the First World War to the present day. We visit Russia from the First World War, Cuba and Egypt during the Seven Days War. In the course of the game we follow a mysterious organization behind all conflicts, thus influencing the fate of the world.
The authors of the game place a very strong emphasis on imitating the realities of fighting with the use of firearms. This has a significant impact on gameplay, battles at certain moments (read when the opponent has a better weapon), become really difficult. If we stand eye to eye with an enemy armed with fast firearms, there may be a problem with e.g. exposing the head, not to mention accurate shooting. You can also forget about hitting a barely visible target, even from a sniper. The effective range of individual rifles has also been taken into account, so ammunition may not reach the target if it is too far away, or you will need to aim a little higher, taking into account the drop of cartridges in flight. In total there are more than two hundred (!) weapons at your disposal. A curiosity is the access to the so-called War Room, which gives a complete, almost encyclopaedic, knowledge about any equipment. It is worthwhile to look there before arming oneself for another mission.
Our hero(s) can use a skill rare in this type of games - he can lift the bodies of fallen enemies, making them an "organic shield". This does not seem to be very humane, but it can save you from oppression. You can also use your rival's hairs to balance the door.
In addition to the single player mode, there are several multiplayer gameplay options. The standard games include Capture the flag, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. Alliance: The Silent War offers a very interesting multiplayer mode: What If. It consists in organizing a fight between two teams from different historical periods. For example, today's Navy Seals versus English soldiers from the First World War armed with mustard gas. Or the Cuban revolutionaries in a clash with the Wehrmacht troops. Such a mismish is probably unprecedented, it seems to be a hit the bull's eye.
