The second big add-on to the Age of Wonder: Planetfall. The expansion introduces a new playable race, as well as a number of modifications in the gameplay mechanics. The add-on was developed by the authors of the main game - Triumph Studios.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Invasions is an add-on to the Age of Wonders: Planetfall strategy released in August 2019. The game introduces new races (including one playable), another type of threat and new types of events. The game was developed by the authors of the main game, Triumph Studios. The publisher is Paradox Interactive.
Plot
After the collapse of Star Union humanity is shaken in its foundations. And what's worse, a new race - the Shakarn - suddenly appears in the galaxy, threatening everything that remains.
Mechanics
Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Invasions introduces two new races. The first are the playable Shakarn, lizard people who use deceit and modern technology to outsmart their rivals. The second, The Therians, are computer-controlled warriors led by the mysterious Deer. This fraction focuses on genetics, incorporating animal characteristics into its DNA.
Another novelty are the invasions by mysterious Voidbringers, moving between dimensions. This is a new kind of challenge that players have to deal with at a late stage of the game - their empire may suddenly be attacked by an army of enslaved soldiers.
The add-on also introduces dozens of new types of environmental phenomena that may affect the course of the fighting (e.g. solar flares or powerful storms).
Game modes
The add-on Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Invasions does not introduce any new game modes. We can play the game alone or with others.
Technical aspects
Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Invasions expansion does not introduce any changes to the basic game design. For this we receive a lot of new projects and effects related to the introduced content and changes.

The Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Invasions is not a stand-alone add-on - it requires a basic version of Age of Wonders: Planetfall to work.
