Afterparty is an adventure for PCs, telling the story of a couple of friends who, after their death, end up in hell and discover that the only way to avoid eternal condemnation is to defeat the Devil in an alcoholic competition. While playing, we explore locations and solve puzzles. The key role is played by the proper use of various drinks, providing bonuses to the ability of the character.

Plot

The main characters of Afterparty are a couple of best friends - Milo and Lola. At the beginning of the game, they both die and end up in hell. Fortunately, it turns out that the situation is not hopeless. They discover a way to avoid eternal damnation and return to the world of the living - they simply have to.... defeat Satan himself in alcoholic competitions.

Mechanics

Afterparty, released on PC, PS4 and XONE, is a rather classic adventure game, so the gameplay comes down to exploring locations and solving puzzles. During the game, we have the opportunity to visit many sections of hell, based on different beliefs, and in each of them, the central point is the bar, where we have to beat local demons in different types of competitions - not only in drinking but also for example in a karaoke competition. The ultimate goal is to find out how to get to the party organized by Satan because only there will we manage to challenge him for an alcoholic duel.

Exploration of hell was realized in the style typical for narrative games, so we explore the location and conduct conversations. The visits to the bars resemble classic adventure games and allow us to freely switch between Milo and Lola in order to collect items and tips and solve puzzles. The right choice of alcohol also plays a key role - many drinks have a specific influence on the character's abilities, e.g. they give them courage.
