Mechanics

Aeterna Noctis is a side-scrolling game. It features sixteen levels. These varied and extensive stages are interconnected, together forming something like a huge maze, which allows us to explore them in any order. Moreover, there are always several paths leading to the goal.

While exploring locations, we jump on platforms and avoid various traps, as well as solve occasional environmental puzzles. Apart from that, we often face enemies on our way, with which the King of Darkness can cope by melee or using magic. In addition to the regular enemies, we often have to face the bosses, whose defeat requires careful observation of their movements and finding their weak points. The game is dynamic, thanks in no small part to the refined and responsive control, which is the apple of the authors' eye.

As we progress we develop the protagonist and unlock new skills related to close combat, magical attacks and the art of survival. This is important because the game's difficulty level increases with time, so we can never feel too confident in the land of Aeterna.

Aeterna Noctis features hand-drawn, 2D graphics. The game can boast smooth animations and detailed and varied location designs.
