AAARGH! is an arcade game, in terms of the idea confusingly similar to the Activision hit called Rampage. The player plays the role of a huge lizard or cyclop, whose task is to regain the eggs hidden by the enemy, the human community.
The game was divided into several stages with increasing difficulty level. In each of them a small village awaits ruin. Your task is to survive the attack (people will defend themselves) and as soon as possible find an egg, moving to the next stage. A search object is always located in one of the houses. In order to get it, you have to level the property one by one with the ground.
Creatures (their choice is only cosmetic) have two types of attacks. The first one is a classic paw blow, operating at a short distance and partially ruining the building. Close combat is also useful for the annihilation of catapults, which will try to kill you by hitting you from a distance. The second attack is used to fire from a distance using a ball of fire. It is much stronger than a traditional impact, and it can also set fire to a building that burns to the foundations without further intervention on your part. Spitting with fire is also the only way to get rid of the extremely annoying birds that occasionally appear on the board. Distance attack, however, has its price. The number of strokes is limited and without collecting bonuses there is nothing to dream about its mass exploitation.
AAARGH! In addition to the possibility of devastating the land alone, it also offers fun in two people, which is undoubtedly a great advantage of the game. Audiovisual doesn't impress - 16-colour EGA and PC Speaker sound are all you can take out of the game. Compared to the Amiga version, this is very little. Despite these disadvantages, AAARGH! is a decent proposition for amateurs of dexterity classes. The lack of performance makes up for the program's huge playability and for this reason it is worth to pay more attention to it.
