A Sound of Thunder is a quite complex arcade game, combining elements of a classic shooter and a relatively extensive adventure. This game refers in a very clear way to the not very popular science fiction film of the same title, with Ben Kingsley in the lead role. This work, like the game, had its official premiere in 2005. At the same time, it is worth mentioning that A Sound of Thunder was initially to be released on other consoles (including PlayStation 2), but these versions were eventually abandoned. Mobius Entertainment studio is responsible for preparing the edition of Gameboy Advance, which has also prepared such games as Max Payne or Bionicle: The Game for handheld users of Nintendo.

The plot of the game coincides with the events presented in the cinema production. The action starts in the distant future. Humanity managed to control time, as a result of which travels to earlier epochs became something fully real. The player learns the history of a group of people who set off on a prehistoric hunt. However, by ignoring the rules in force, there is an error. As a result, everything changes. As you can easily guess, the player's task will be to restore the natural course of events. The game itself, however, focuses more on the problem of neutralizing the creatures encountered in prehistory. A Sound of Thunder resembles such series as Dino Crisis or Turok in many respects.

In addition to shooting, you should also solve more or less complex puzzles. Many of them require moving boxes or reaching specific switches. A short sequence played in the car was also taken care of. A Sound of Thunder has a fully fledged multiplayer. Two players can play in cooperation mode. With four people in mind, a deathmatch is planned. The control is very simple, because the game includes the option of automatic target tracking. Visually A Sound of Thunder looks very good. The action is observed in isometric projection.
