9th Dawn Remake is a completely refreshed version of the 2012 action RPG 9th Dawn, which started the series beloved by gamers. The remake was developed by the authors of the original, namely the Valorware studio from the United Kingdom.

Plot

9th Dawn Remake takes us to a fantasy world, or more precisely – to the continent of Montelorne. The ominous Maltyr castle looms over it, from which monsters and other abominations threatening the inhabitants of this land emerge. When the local lighthouse keeper disappears, a hero sets out from the small town of Agaria to investigate the sinister power and deal with it before it's too late. How their fate will unfold depends on our actions and the decisions we make.

Gameplay

In 9th Dawn Remake we can watch the action in an isometric view, as in the original, or from a first-person perspective (FPP). At the start we choose one of the available character classes (we can choose from a knight fighting in close combat, an archer keeping enemies at a distance, and a mage using spells). We can then throw ourselves into the whirl of adventures.

The game offers a vast world with an open structure, which we can freely explore. We get to know the inhabitants of Montelorne and carry out quests for them (in addition to missions pushing the plot forward, numerous side quests also await completion), we venture into vast dungeons, and also eliminate hordes of enemies.

The battles are dynamic - we must be in constant motion, dodging and launching accurate attacks. We make use of melee weapons, ranged weapons, and magic on the battlefield. As we progress, we develop our character and gather increasingly better equipment, which we either find or craft. Our possibilities do not end there, because the game allows us to breed creatures that, over time, grow into powerful allies that provide us with indispensable support.

During breaks from our travels, we can spend time playing card games in the so-called Deck Rock (inspired by Slay the Spire and Roguebook games) or take on the role of a worm repelling waves of fish that want to eat it, in a fishing mini-game called Fishing Survivors.

Game modes

9th Dawn Remake can be played solo or in co-op mode for two people (via the Internet or on a shared screen).

Graphics

Although the authors of 9th Dawn Remake thoroughly refreshed the graphics, the presentation in the game is still maintained in a retro style.

9th Dawn: The Book of Nameless

9th Dawn Remake made its debut in the company of the novel 9th Dawn: The Book of Nameless by L.R. Gaunt. The action in the book was set 100 years before the events presented in the game.
