9th Dawn Remake is a thoroughly refreshed version of the action RPG released in 2012 under the title of 9th Dawn, which gave rise to the well-loved series. The production was developed by the authors of the original, the Valorware studio from the UK.

The plot of

9th Dawn Remake takes us to a fantastic world, more precisely - to the continent of Montelorne. It is dominated by the gloomy Maltyr Castle, from which come out monsters and other filthy things that threaten the inhabitants of this land. When a local lighthouse keeper is lost without news, a character sets out from the small town of Agaria, tasked with investigating the sinister power and dealing with it before it's too late to do so. How her fate will turn out depends on our actions and decisions.

Gameplay

In 9th Dawn Remake, the action can be viewed from an isometric view, as in the original, or from a first-person perspective (FPP). At the beginning we choose one of the available character classes (we can choose between a knight who fights in close quarters, an archer who keeps enemies at a distance and a mage who uses spells) and throw ourselves into the vortex of adventures.

The production puts at our disposal a vast world with an open structure, which we can freely roam. While exploring Montelorne, we get to know its inhabitants and carry out tasks for them (in addition to missions pushing the plot forward there are numerous side quests waiting to be completed), venture into vast dungeons and eliminate hosts of enemies.

Clashes are dynamic, and during them we must be in constant motion, performing evasions and launching accurate attacks. On the battlefield we make use of white weapons, ranged weapons and magic. As we progress, we develop our character and collect better equipment, which we can find or produce. However, our possibilities do not end there, as the game allows us to breed creatures, which over time grow into powerful allies who are an indispensable support for us.

During breaks from our travels we can spend time playing card games in the so-called Deck Rock (inspired by Slay the Spire and Roguebook) or... take on the role of a worm fending off successive waves of fish eager to eat it, in a fishing minigame christened Fishing Survivors.

Game modes

9th Dawn Remake can be played solo or in cooperative mode for two people (over the Internet or on a shared screen).

Graphics

Although the authors of 9th Dawn Remake have thoroughly refreshed the visuals, the whole thing is still maintained in a retro style.

9th Dawn: The Book of Nameless

9th Dawn Remake debuted in the company of the novel 9th Dawn: The Book of Nameless, by L.R. Gaunt, which is set 100 years before the events depicted here.
