99 Levels to Hell is a representative of classic two-dimensional roguelike platformers, in which we set off on a journey to hell to fight the final battle with Satan. The game was developed by an independent Danish studio B-Evil.

In the game we choose one of the available travelers and set out to explore the vast dungeons, which are the title 99 levels on the way to the heart of hell. The task is to move through stages, avoid traps and eliminate more than 25 types of enemies with 50 types of weapons assigned to specific characters. Every 10 levels a more demanding boss awaits us, but in order to reach it, we must first complete the keys hidden in the earlier stages. Overcoming the barefoot opens the way to another group of even more dangerous dungeons.

Contrary to the title, in the game we have not 99, but 100 hellish levels to pass. And as befits a roguelike game, we have only one life at our disposal. However, in order to make it a little easier for less experienced players, every 10 levels we unlock a special shortcut, thanks to which in case of death, we do not have to start playing from the very beginning. During the game we also come across a variety of shops and casinos, where we can spend the money earned during the game. For attentive players there are also hidden chambers, where we can find, among other things, new, inaccessible characters.

The whole project was realized in an old-school graphic style, referring to classic roguelike productions, although the individual stages are extremely colorful here, and the game does not lack various lighting effects. The feeling of "hell" is deepened by the metal soundtrack that accompanies the game.
