60 Seconds!
A post-apocalyptic survival strategy game with RPG elements, created by Polish developer Robot Gentleman Studios. You play as the head of a typical American family, who has to provide for his loved ones in the face of an incoming nuclear war.
60 Seconds from the Polish studio Robot Gentleman, is a strategy and RPG crossover with survival elements. The production has initially been released for PC, from which it was ported to the most popular mobile platforms, such as Android.
In 60 Seconds we play as Ted, the head of a typical American family, living in a house with a white fence in the suburbs of a large city with his wife, daughter and son. The action starts a minute before the detonation of the first bomb, when the sirens of the government’s warning system announce the upcoming apocalypse; the priceless 60 seconds featured in the title of the production will be spent on escorting our family to the bunker underneath the house and gathering any supplies we manage to get our hands on along the way.
The world of the game, including the interior of the house, is procedurally generated, which means that every time we make a run for the bunker we will encounter different resources than last time; picking up random things could play a trick on you, as you need to focus on the more important supplies and judge what will be of most use to you in your current situation. You are actively aided in your choices by the government’s warning system, which is giving many useful clues and hints. Once in the bunker, it is your task to survive as long as possible; the flow of events is completely dynamic and the gameplay has been designed to simulate life in containment and isolation. The players have to make difficult choices every day, e.g. rationing food, dealing with an infestation of mutated cockroaches or deciding who to send on an extremely dangerous supply run on the surface.
Despite the grim and serious subject matter of 60 Seconds, the developers have taken the project with a pinch of salt and the action has been based on a humoristic version of the 1950’s, portrayed on the PC by using a quaint, cartoony art style.
