Corpse Party

A visual novel adventure game developed by studio 5pg. The game is an improved version of the independent game created by Makoto Kedouin and originally released in 1996. Corpse Party takes place in a high school building that was built on the ruins of an old grade school in which a terrible and mysterious crime has occurred. One day, due to unexplainable events, a group of students enters a terrible and grotesque version of their school in which the corridors are filled with decomposing corpses. Trapped in the building, the main characters must face the mysteries of the building and the revenge-seeking ghosts of the dead children. The game uses typical gameplay mechanics of visual novel games, although it also contains exploration and even action sequences. The story has several different endings that depend on the choices made by the player.

The second installment in a series of jRPGs enriched with elements typical for visual novels and dungeon crawlers. This time, the player assumes the role of a chosen character (several available) and their goal is to defeat the monsters lurking in the Pandora Labyrinth. The gameplay resembles the formula used in the original game - the player explores randomly generated dungeons, talks to seven female companions (as well as asks them out on dates) and fights the enemies encountered. Once again, the so-called Star Children accompany the player in combat, offering their unique abilities as a form of support. The game is played from a third-person view and the player can both avoid encounters with enemies and attack them by surprise. Similar to the previous installment, one can buy new parts of equipment in town. The visuals are decent here and resemble anime productions.

Players take on the role of a Tokyo high school student, who is one of the 13 rulers of demons who can oppose the invasion of Japan by a foreign race. An interactive adventure horror game from visual novel genre and a third entry in Zero Escape series, created ChunSoft in cooperation with Aksys Games. It takes place in Martian research facility, ordered to survey reactions of people locked and isolated from the rest of the world. Gameplay doesn’t differ much from that of previous parts of the series and presents fans with well-known characters. Numerous puzzles are important part of the game, which we must solve quickly to maintain our heroes lives. Unlike its predecessor though, Zero Escape 3 stands out with more philosophical approach to its theme and focus on moral dilemmas. Depending on player’s actions, he or she will witness one of three alternate endings.

Another installment in the legal thriller adventure game series by Japanese studio Capcom, created for Nintendo 3DS. As always, the game's protagonist is the reputable lawyer Phoenix Wright, who this time leaves Japan and travels to a fictional country, the dominant religion of which is based on spirit worship. Upon arrival Phoenix gets involved in a series of crimes and has to defend the unfairly accused in court. His first client, a young priest, chooses to accompany his helper on his further adventures and keeps providing him with interesting facts about the local customs. Every case you need to solve has two stages. During the first one you conduct the investigation: examine the crime scene, look for evidence and clues, question the witnesses, etc. The second stage consists of using the gathered information to defend the accused. A new feature is a water mirror in the courtroom, which is used for conjuring up the connections between items, pieces of information, and characters.
