3D Ultra Pinball Thrillride is another item in Sierra's series of arcade pinballs (3D Ultra Pinball NASCAR, 3D Ultra Pinball Creep Night, 3D Ultra Pinball: The Lost Continent and others). The assumptions of the game are similar to the typical positions of the genre (such as games released by 21st Century Entertainment), but the main difference is that the pinball table has been shown in full three dimensions. Like other products in the 3D Ultra Pinball series, the player can freely manipulate the view to set the view of the table according to their preference. The available table is composed of a large number of interactive objects, the player can freely set the detail of the visible objects or the presence of additional lighting effects.

According to what the name may suggest, Thrillride is thematically similar to the famous RollerCoasters, which can be found in almost every amusement park. This means, however, that the authors have prepared only one table. It is worth mentioning that fun does not have much in common with realism, both the appearance of the table and its size are one hundred percent fictitious. Fortunately, the ball itself is already subject to the laws of physics, in this case the game holds a similar level to its predecessors. As was the case with other Sierra pin balls, the available table was divided into several segments. While playing, the player "visits" various attractions, such as houses of fear or toy shops. The key element of the table is the Thrill Zone. This is a special zone, where the player receives completely new, highly scored tasks. To get to the Thrill Zone you need to perform several top-down actions (send the ball to the designated ramps). In addition, it is possible to unlock one of the available mini-games related to RollerCoasters, which are played on the display at the top of the screen. These tasks require, first of all, a lot of agility and getting to know the rules of play. Due to the fact that the game was focused on arcade gameplay, it is relatively easy to play.
