Shoot'em up action game with a bit of roguelike elements developed by indie studio flanne. Player's task is to survive the attack of hordes of monsters inspired by the prose of H.P. Lovecraft for the title twenty minutes.
20 Minutes Till Dawn is an arcade action game with elements of the roguelike and shoot'em up subgenres. It was developed by indie studio flanne and released in cooperation with Erabit. First, the developer released a demo of the game, entitled 10 Minutes Till Dawn. Then it debuted in early access on Steam, and after two months the full version was released.
Basics and gameplay
The player's task in 20 Minutes Till Dawn is to survive the attack of a horde of monsters that are inspired by the prose of Howard Phillips Lovecraft for the title twenty minutes. To achieve your goal, you must choose one of several heroes - seven characters are provided at the start - who have unique traits and are able to wield many different types of weapons. Together with more than fifty upgrades for these - their different combinations provide multiple synergies - the game offers a unique gameplay experience with every playthrough.
Many times, when playing 20 Minutes Till Dawn from the beginning, as it were - this is, after all, the premise of croissants - the player almost all the time has items to unlock that can make future games significantly easier for him. Along with the progress, you can gain access to higher difficulty levels, providing not only a greater challenge, but also a more varied host of opponents.
Single session time
A single playthrough of 20 Minutes Till Dawn takes a maximum of twenty minutes, as long as you survive to the end. The developers have also made available the ten-minute mode known from the demo. It is designed for people who prefer shorter sessions with the game.
