BioShock Infinite Description
BioShock: Infinite for PC, X360 and PS3 is the next installments of renowned series of shooters including intriguing storyline and complex gameplay. The production’s codename was Project Icarus. It is not supposed to continue the story presented in the underwater city of Rapture (BioShock, BioShock 2); it is a spin-off. The game was created by Irrational Games, renowned for BioShock or System Shock 2.
Story
The action takes place in the early 20th century. You play as Booker DeWitt, a detective working for the Pinkerton Agency. Unfortunately, he is dismissed after a mistake and starts working on his own, taking well-paid, but extremely dangerous and risky jobs. One of them takes DeWitt aboard Columbia, an extraordinary aerial city. The metropolis was thought to be a peaceful project, but it has been turned into a flying fortress. The city is controlled by an unknown group that kidnaps and imprisons people and threatens the entire world. Your job is to rescue a woman named Elizabeth. It will not be an easy task, because Columbia is being torn by a conflict between two groups. Each of them has its own plans towards the woman. The rulers of the city kept her in prison for fifteen years and they are ready to lock her for even longer period of time. On the other hand, a radical military faction known as Vox Populi wants to use Elizabeth to take the power over Columbia.
Gameplay
Game developers offer a lot of different weapons (shotguns, sniper rifles) and special powers. As in the previous parts, players can attack the enemies with lightning or use telekinesis for lifting and throwing objects. The main character has received several new abilities, including summon of the ravens that disable opponents for a few seconds. Elizabeth also has some extraordinary powers – the girl has powerful telekinetic abilities and can manipulate tears that appear in the matrix of reality. Therefore, she can use items (equipment, vehicles) from other dimension to help Booker during fights.
Different locale means open locations where you can take advantage of specific types of weapons (e.g. sniper rifles). Columbia is inhabited primarily by people, although you will meet local counterparts of Big Daddies (opponents taken from previous BioShock parts) and powerful mechanical creature known as Songbird who served as Elizabeth’s guard and defender when she was in captivity. Enemies are controlled by advanced AI and make use of all elements of the environment, e.g. the sky-rail network connecting various islands that serves a transport system. The system is currently shut down, but owing to the wrist hooks one can slide on the so-called stripes and travel between the islands. The problem is that enemies can do the same thing. Sometimes players have to defend against enemies who use the adjacent track. Not to mention that any fall at this speed and height is definitely fatal. Moreover, opponents use this method of transportation to get behind the player’s back.
Technology
BioShock: Infinite for PC, X360 and PS3 runs on Unreal Engine 3, however the developers improved it a bit, adding a new lighting system and advanced AI mechanics that enables computer-driven characters for greater interaction with the world around them.

The 10th Anniversary of BioShock Infinite, Game That Boldly Deconstruced American Exceptionalism
There is always a lighthouse, there's always a man, there's always a city. And there's always the ideology that BioShock is trying to deconstruct. In Infinite, it was about a particularly sensitive issue: the American sense of uniqueness against the whole world.
