Dishonored Description
Dishonored for PC, X360 and PS3 is an innovative blend of an FPS and a stealth game, with player choices affecting both gameplay and the environment. The fictional world of the game that you visit, is relies heavily on steampunk aura and 19th-century aesthetics.
The game was developed by the French Arcane Studios, founded by Rafa Colantonio, the creator of such titles as Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. Colantonio’s experienced team received also support from Harvey Smith, co-creator of the first two parts of Deus Ex, and Viktor Antonov, who was responsible for concepts and projects of the City 17, a location featured in Half-Life 2.
Plot
In Dishonored you take on the role of Corvo, a respected bodyguard to the Empress assassinated during a coup organized by a corrupted Lord Regent. In order to divert the attention from the conspiracy he prepared, the Regent falsely accuses the protagonist of the crime. However, he does not fully realize that Corvo is one of the most dangerous men in the world, an experienced warrior who can easily disappear from enemy's sight if he wishes to. A master-class martial artist, proficient with a number of innovative gadgets (sticky bombs, automatic traps, tranquilizer darts, etc.), Corvo is also gifted with supernatural abilities and powers (such as super-speed, teleportation, double jump). Determined to serve justice where it is due, he escapes from the prison and begins a methodical revenge.
Gameplay
A key element to the gameplay in Dishonored on PC, X360 and PS3 is executing carefully planned killings. Inspired by the Thief series, the creators have prepared a well-refined stealth system that emphasizes freedom of movement, encouraging the players to make use of the hero’s superhuman abilities and gadgets, interact with the environment, and outsmarting the AI. Despite all this, the game does not force you to complete objectives solely in a quiet, stealthy manner, as there is nothing that would prevent you from turning each mission into a bloodbath. It all depends on the preferences of the player.
Each of the protagonist’s powers can be combined with others, to various effects. For example, you can pause time for a moment, and then use another power to throw some things off a table in order to create a distraction. This will draw guards’ attention, while you sneak past unnoticed. This is just one of the options you may use - any problem you encounter in the game can be solved in many ways, and it is you who decides which one to choose.
The game keeps track of your behavior, analyzing your aggression and how much death and confusion you leave behind you. Depending on the level of chaos caused, the story and the surrounding world undergo noticeable changes.

Bethesda Wasn't Convinced About Dishonored 3, So We Got Deathloop Instead
The poor reception of Dishonored 2 led to the birth of Deathloop. The title was originally intended to be a „small game,” filling the gap before Arkane's next major project.
