Managing trainings | Football Manager 2020 Football Manager 2020 guide, tips
Last update: 15 November 2019
In Football Manager 2020, the training calendar has been divided into one-week blocks. During each week, you can schedule 7 days of training. It is worth noting the fact that each training unit (1 day) can be divided into 3 separate training sections. When preparing a training plan, you should pay special attention to the fact that each of the training days does not have to consist of 3 sections because you can exhaust your players, leading to greater susceptibility to injuries and lower morale.
Training groups
In FM 20, there are three training groups available: forwards, defenders and goalkeepers. What is very important, players can be moved freely between these groups, if, of course, they can play in this position. Therefore, if you want players from the defensive group to work with the offensive group, you must previously transfer them to the appropriate group.
Training intensity
In the process of planning workouts, make sure that Your players have a maximum of 2 very intense workouts in one week. Try not to plan too many activities that can adversely affect the morale of the players (gym), but do not put the same easy and enjoyable activities.
Mentoring program
One or more experienced players and several promising young players can be added to the mentoring program to learn from them. A mentor can be a player who has a strong position in the club, is an influential and decisive player.
Individual training
Individual training is very important for the development of a player, because it allows you to prepare him for a certain role in the team. Individual training can be divided by category:
- Teaching selected attributes
- Training certain features related to the role that the player has on the field
- Training favorite moves
During individual training sessions, pay special attention to the fact that the player is trained in accordance with his role on the field. For example, if you want the defenders actively involved in offensive actions, you should strive to train their speed.
Team training
During team training, your players can train certain attributes, such as tactics. In the process of planning a workout, you can choose its intensity by making appropriate changes in the training plan. You can also decide when players should rest. It's worth noting here that players should get a day off after the game. For example, if the Spanish League matches are held on a Sunday, Monday is the day-off. The pre-match training also counts as a team training. The differences between normal and pre-match training are related to the period of time during which these attributes are improved. For pre-match training, the increase in attributes is only temporary and is related to the upcoming meeting. This is especially useful before a very important Cup meeting, for which you want to properly prepare your team.
