The Last of Us: Part II – troubles before release. Should we believe rumors the leaks?
Table of Contents
This year's premiere of The Last of Us: Part II will probably be remembered for a long time. The controversy that the game sparked after release aside, let's recall the situation from the end of April, way before the launch. Someone uploaded a clip showing significant elements of the story, among others. The very quality of the material allowed us to believe that the leak was genuine.
Since I'm a kind individual, I will not be writing extensively about what was revealed back then. I bet many of you know what that was about anyway, and can remember the controversy. Still, those leaks were true. As Sony officially announced, the individuals responsible were in no way associated with Sony Interactive Entertainment, the publisher, or Naughty Dog studio, the developer.
LEAKS ABOUT SONY EXCLUSIVES?
As trivia, I should add that several other exclusive productions from Sony were also leaked. In 2016, we heard about what the new God of War would be like (and the leaks confirmed). It was also true that the second installment of Horizon Zero Dawn will be due out in 2021 on the PS5, and the footage from 2014 showing gameplay from Bloodborne was also genuine. Of course, this is only a fraction of various leaks, but – as you can see – in the case of Sony exclusives, they often check out.
