Most Original Games of 2022 - Didn't Copy ANYONE

In 2022, we had at least a few big, high-budget productions that, in order to get to the top, had to use the solutions of their predecessors. This list, on the other hand, includes indie games that the pressure of producers didn't give a damn.

Table of Contents

There were a more of original games created in 2022, but these are the ones that we considered the most notable. If you have played something interesting or heard about other productions of this type, be sure to mention it in the comments!

This is the fourth game of this type for writer, programmer and art designer Remigiusz Michalski. And not much has changed here. Although the author has improved the backgrounds, characters and animation, it's still the same, sometimes crude, gameplay as in Cat Lady.

In terms of style, Michalski is also not far from what he has been showing for over a decade now. We have a lot of mystery here and a lot of balance between reality and dreams. The symbolism of individual acts of madness and cruelty may seem unclear at first; only when we reach the end will we understand what these initially opaque scenes of violence were supposed to mean.

The whole thing perfectly harmonizes with the previous works of Harvester Games. This is definitely not a game that's played for its aesthetics or sound. Maybe a few scenes will catch your attention, and the music skillfully builds tension, but it's not something you would remember for long. This is not a game to look at, you just have to experience Burnhouse Lane – and I warn sensitive people right away – it can be a really traumatic adventure with a hint of nostalgia.
