Mortem. The Sims 4: Best Mods to Download in 2024
Table of Contents
After spending dozens, if not hundreds, of hours with some families in The Sims, it's sad to say goodbye to them. This becomes even more peculiar when the close ones of the virtual deceased witness the visit of the Grim Reaper and then forget about the event a few days later.
The Mortem modification introduces a much more realistic character death system to the game, taking into account less conventional situations. Thanks to it, Sims transitioning to the afterlife won't transform into urns and tombstones, but will instead leave behind real bodies.
A professional funeral home or one of characters controlled by us can take care of them, as long as they aren't caught in the act. However, in the case of a traditional farewell, we have the option to select a suitable tombstone version to commemorate the deceased, arrange a funeral ceremony, or donate the decease's organs for scientific purposes.
This mod includes situation-appropriate environmental elements and furniture, as well as ready-to-place funeral home buildings in several versions within the game world.
Road to Wealth
Whether we like it or not, money is the great driving force in the world - especially in a game like The Sims 4. So, it might seem natural to have a system that considers our accomplishments and uses them to adapt other aspects of our families' lives. Although you won't find it in the basic version of the game, you can add it thanks to the Road to Wealth modification.
With it, each Sim is assigned to one of five social classes - from the poorest to the richest. This allocation is determined by our savings and the value of our real estate holdings. Individual income levels are associated with additional dedicated activities, such as searching for small change or participating in paid events. They affect the relationships between characters and are constantly modified as we progress.
If ascending the social ladder seems like an intriguing challenge to you, you can also bestow your character with an ambition where his (or her) ultimate aim is to attain the highest level of comfort.
