The Storm - Maelstrom - Halo 3 Campaign Overhaul is a mod for Halo 3 (the one that’s part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection), created by C4M3R0N42.

Description (in author’s own words):

Welcome to The Storm - Maelstrom! This mod aims to add the trademark brightly coloured gumdrop / Mega Bloks Elites to The Storm, so you can enjoy fighting alongside the finest warriors of Sanghelios while repelling the Brute invasion of Voi. Allied Grunts will now assist you in the mission too, wielding a variety of weapons from Magnums to Plasma Rifles. The highlight of this mod is the Scarab battle, which has been made far more interesting with the inclusion of uniquely armed or armoured Elites on each Mongoose that allows for easy visual distinction between each Mongoose that makes the battle that bit more fun.

List of Changes

- Altered Elite armor colourations to add brighter armour colours and more varieties of rank

- Added far more Elite spawns throughout the mission

- Added several opportunities for unique ally spawns including Spec Ops Elites and allied Grunts

- Some Elites now Dual-wield Plasma Rifles

- The Arbiter can now trade weapons with the player

- Allied Elites, Marines and Workers are stronger

- Workers have different tunic colours

Installation Instructions

- Installing this mod is simple. Navigate to the root folder for Halo: The Master Chief Collection - usually in Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common, and go to the folder called 'halo 3'

- From there, open the folder called maps - this contains all of the map files for Halo 3

- Next, BACK UP THESE FILES if you haven't already, just in case

- Then simply move the 40_voi.map file that is this mod to replace the one in the maps file, and play Halo: MCC with Anti-Cheat disabled

- Now boot up the mission The Storm on the difficulty of your choice, using whichever Skull modifiers you like.
