Play through the Halo Reach campaign as a weak, squishy, under-powered ODST!

I've been wanting to play Halo Reach as a regular human but I couldn't find any mods that still worked. So, I made one instead of waiting around. This is more of a passion project for myself, but I figured I would upload it for anyone else who wants to play as a regular dude. I've made a few other gameplay modifications but I've tried to stay as faithful to the original game as possible. I recommend playing on Heroic with skulls turned on, but you can obviously play with whatever settings you want. Since you aren't a spartan anymore, you will be a lot easier to kill. On top of that, you can't throw grenades instantly, jump as high, or melee as fast and hard. If this sounds like something you'd like, go ahead and give the mod a try!

Armor/Fatigue Colors

For some reason the ODST armor color is controlled by your visor color. I uploaded pictures of what color your armor will be based on which color visor you choose. The color changes are subtle but noticeable. Your fatigues are controlled by your multiplayer armor colors. Oddly enough, your secondary color will be your primary color in-game, and your primary color will be your secondary color in-game. Confused? Basically, whichever color you want to see more of, make that your secondary armor color.

Changes

Health/Shields

- Shields have been removed HUD

- Third Person camera has been used for the entire campaign

- 3rd person weapon zoom has been added (no night vision when zooming)

- The HUD/Night Vision now has a yellow paint job

Weapons/Damage

- Melee damage has been reduced from 100% to 25% (spine taps are still lethal)

- Grenade throw distance has been increased

- Grenade/melee attacks now take a few seconds, and fit the marine animations better

Movement/Controls

- Jump height has been reduced

- You can't hijack enemy vehicles, assassinate enemies, or dismount turrets (at least, you shouldn't be able to)

- Run speed has been reduced from 100% to 75% (this fits the run animation better, you also can't run as fast as a spartan)

Equipment

- Equipment drops upon player death

- Sprint now lasts a few seconds longer

- Armor Lock ability has been replaced with Evade (While Evading, you have increased damage resistance)

Crashing issues

If you are having issues with the game crashing when trying to load a map, one fix I have found that works is to go to your Spartan and change all of your armor permutations to the Default ones you start with.

Known Bugs

- Throwing grenades while riding passenger in a vehicle causes the grenade to permanently stick to your hand and never detonate

- Driving/Riding a Warthog with the Jetpack equipped causes you to stand up

- Evading forward while wielding a pistol type weapon will cause you to rubberband back to your original position

- If you are unable to zoom-in with any weapons, check your FOV settings and lower them to 78

To install:

Wextract all of the map files inside your Halo The Master Chief Collection/haloreach/maps/ folder. BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL MAPS AND PLAY WITH ANTI-CHEAT DISABLED!!!
