Serious Doom the Simple Encounter is a mod for Doom II, created by ghostlion88.

Description (in author’s own words):

This is a fan-made tribute to the Serious Sam series

Many resources are from Batandy's "Retro Encounter" mod

(discontinued)

new stuff I added:

-Serious Sam high resolution player sprites (a few front angles not imported yet though)

-Sam is also barefoot in this mod, because he found out it's healthier.

-seems ancient Egypt would be perfect for a Barefoot survivalist adventure; no modern grocery store around with dress code requirements

-check out Professor Daniel Howell's book titled "The Barefoot Book." It's all about how shoes are bad for your bone structures and other reaons you should live barefoot as often as possible)

-think Cody Lundin from "Survivorman" tv series. REAL men go barefoot! (also real women too! All humans should be healthy)

-Biomechanoid Minor sprites (replaces Arachnotron, but it's faster & more aggressive) (sprites made using Garrys Mod & Krita)

-3 new whacky zombie-oid characters, a pumpkinheaded shotgunner & green gooey chaingunner

-tribute maps to Serious Sam Classic levels (single player/coop) replacing Most Doom levels

-"hippie" blood setting (flowers for blood, like in classic SS & HD games & BFE)

-modified glowing pumpkin sprites for people who like lava lamps & stuff (see map31)

-a text file retextures any leftover Doom levels from Doom 1, Final Doom or Doom 2 so that they have some EGYPT textures

-a swampy green PainElemental now spits Marsh Hoppers at you instead of Lost Souls

-new high resolution skies for Serpent Yards, South America, Outer Space,

-Lava Golem enemy replaces Cyberdemon
