Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars is set several years after the events depicted in the original game. When the ruler of Enroth, Lord Morglin Ironfist dies, a conflict over the throne breaks out between his sons.

The action of Impire is set in the land of Ardania, known from the Majesty series. The player directs the actions of Baal Abaddon, the former ruler of darkness, who was degraded to the role of a small, demonic imp. The hero wants to regain his former power, which requires the creation of vast dungeons, full of traps and powerful monsters.

The new missions are set after the events of StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, when Terrans try to rebuild their Empire, battered after many wars. The story focuses on an agent of the Ghosts squad named November ‘Nova’ Terra, a character known from previous installments.
