After the three previous installments, which were average games at best, the developer was given more time to create this new follow-up. Thanks to that, NBA Live 18 brings a few interesting novelties. Above all, the game introduces The One mode - the player creates their own character and takes part in matches in The Streets mode and The League component (the latter is the NBA league).

Most importantly, EA Tiburon has implemented a full-fledged story campaign into Madden NFL 18, entitled Longshot. One gets to follow the story of a formerly promising NFL player, who after several years of break decides to reclaim his status and become a pro.

Creators of Dunk Lords were inspired by unusual sports games from the previous century, mainly the NBA Jam series. Instead of regular basketball matches, we receive a spectacular and quite brutal game, in which two teams of five players use supernatural powers. We can choose from sixteen diversified players (both humans and strange mutants), each with unique talents.

NBA Playgrounds is an arcade sports game inspired by the NBA Street game series. It was developed by Saber Interactive, a studio mostly known for their futuristic first-person shooters like TimeShift and Inversion. In NBA Playgrounds, players take part in basketball matches. Even though the gameplay is based on classic rules, it has not much to do with reality. The players can jump incredibly high and do various tricks during those jumps.

A first-person sports game, created mainly for VR goggles and developed by ZEN Studios. It is a sequel to 2010 Planet Minigolf. This game represents a very arcade approach to golf, although quick fingers are not the only thing that is necessary during the game. The developers implemented a rather realistic physics system which means that, in order to succeed, we need practice, skills and knowledge of the game mechanics.

Another installment of the sports game series developed by Cyanide Studio and dedicated to fans of cycling. On PC, the title is a cycling management game in which the player doesn’t have direct control over the cyclists – our task is to form the best possible team that consists of training staff and sportsmen recruited by, for example, talent hunters. One of the keys to success is to adopt the right tactic for subsequent races.

Similarly to its predecessors, in the game, we lead one of thirty clubs of the American MLB league to take part in the 2017’s baseball league games. Given the full MLB license, there are actual teams and thirty existing sports arenas. Moreover, we can also play matches with classic rosters from previous seasons.

Another installment in the sports game series dedicated to Australian football. The title, developed by Wicked Witch Software, is a hybrid of sports and management simulations – while playing, we not only play matches but also take care of the team manager’s responsibilities. Our tasks include determining team composition and tactics, taking part in drafts and making transfers as well as negotiating contracts and balancing the club’s budget. There are over 80 licensed teams at our disposal.

There are six jockeys and six horses at the player's disposal - each of them has both their weak and strong points, which makes it necessary to experiment with different tactics. During the game you can try to beat a wide range of challenges such as time trials or stunts.

The basic mechanics seen in the previous installment haven’t changed – we've received a complex sandbox golfing simulator that enables us to create our own player and take part in numerous matches and golf tournaments. When it comes to mechanics, Snooker Nation Championship doesn’t differ much from its predecessor. It was produced by lacrosse experts, Crosse Studios, in cooperation with Big Ant Studios, known for such titles as AFL Live, Don Bradman Cricket 14, and Rugby League Live. Lacrosse is played on a grassy field, and the opposing teams' objective is to place a small ball in the other team's goal, using a special kind of stick.
