The game takes the players to a fantasy world that exists thanks to the balance between the domains that can be found there: Dawn, Dusk, Day, and Night. At some point, however, Night began its expansion and started to take over the place of the remaining domains, bringing the world at the edge of destruction. To counter the threat, Dawn sent out its champion, the titular Aaru.
