Genshin Impact’s creators from HoYoverse (formely MiHoYo) are not stopping. After creating the previously mentioned title, and then not less successful Honkai: Star Rail, the time has come for Zenless Zone Zero. There is no denying that the developers have a faithful group of fans, who appreciate their work, many of them wanted to try out ZZZ as soon as possible. However, some of them were unpleasantly surprised while attempting to download the title by stumbling upon “Download failed” error message. Let’s see if there is any way to fix this pesky problem.

After fantasy Genshin and space-themed Honkai, HoYoverse set their course on postapocalyptic direction. Zenless Zone Zero should take us to a world ruined by Hollows… yes, should, because some of the fans cannot even download the game because of “Download failed” error message. As of now, there is no official news from the developers about the message, so let’s see what disheartened fans have been able to find out.
Strangely, there seem to be several things that the players have tried to do, and different things worked in their cases. Let’s see what can be done about it:
- Make sure to use reliable internet connection. It appears that the download tends to fail due to possible timeouts.
- Disable the option to create the desktop shortcut (once you download the initial client, not the game itself). As weird as it sounds, some fans claim that it helped.
- Sometimes, the issue seems to be related to unzipping the downloaded files instead of the download itself. You can try going to the downloaded files location and unpack them manually.
- Lastly, you can attempt disabling IPv6 in your computer’s network properties.
