ESRB databases has long been an excellent source of information about unannounced projects. The most recent example of this was the PC version of Yakuza Kiwami 2, which appeared on the organization's website.
For the time being, the project has not yet been officially announced, but we expect it to be just a matter of time, as leaks from age rating agencies rarely turns out to be false. Apart from the PC version, there are no other specifics, so we don't know when the port will be released. Yakuza 0 hit PC in August last year, and we got the PC edition of Yakuza Kiwami six months later. The PC version of Yakuza Kiwami 2 should be released later this year.
It is worth noting that Sega decided to port the series to PC in chronological order. On PlayStation 4, the game was released after Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, but as a remake of the second part of the cycle, Yakuza Kiwami 2 tell about earlier events.
This raises the question of how Sega's publishing strategy will continue to look like. PlayStation 4 has already received refreshed versions of the third and fourth parts of the cycle, and Yakuza 5 Remastered is also on the way. So far, however, no English language editions of these productions have been announced. We hope that they will be ported to PC, because without the knowledge of their events it would be difficult for PC players to fully appreciate the finale of the saga, which is Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.
Let's remind that Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a PS4 remake of the second installment of the series, which debuted in 2009 on PlayStation 2. Compared to the original, practically every element of the game has been improved. The combat system has been expanded and a lot of new content has been added. The graphic design has also been completely redesigned, running on a new version of the engine, originally developed for Yakuza 6.
