XSS May Not Support Native Full HD in Watch Dogs Legion
Ubisoft has revealed that it aims for dynamic 1080p resolution in Watch Dogs: Legion on Xbox Series S. Microsoft's weaker console will offer ray tracing, however.
The dust has settled after the PC launch of Watch Dogs: Legion, which gathered decent reviews, but we are still waiting for its release of the Xbox Series X/S (November 10) and PlayStation 5 (November 12). Recently, Ubisoft confirmed that the game will run on next-gen consoles in 4K resolution at 30 fps with ray tracing enabled, and details of the version for Xbox Series S have now been revealed. The developer revealed that this version will also offer support for ray tracing, but at the expense of resolution. The creators aim only at dynamic 1080p. The number of fps will probably remain unchanged (30 fps).
Galvin Whitlock, Ubisoft's chief programmer, added, by the way, that although ray tracing is more modest on consoles than on PCs, "only experts will be able to point out the differences". We'll see if that's the case in mid-November this year, when the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles will hit the market.
