XDA Developers: Xiaomi Prepares as Much as Four 108 Mpix Phones
According to XDA Developers, Xiaomi is working on four phones with 108 Mpix matrix in the basic camera. This will be a record achievement for smartphones.
As reported by XDA Developers, Xiaomi is working on four 108 Mpix phones in the main rear camera. The megapixel arms race is in full swing, and such moves on the part of producers only exacerbate the conflict. So we can expect that other companies will follow the example given by the Chinese manufacturer and also introduce matrices of similar resolution to their flagship products.
The sources of XDA Developers seem to be reliable, because in the past their reports have already proved their worth many times. This time, the trace of such a powerful sensor was detected in MIUI Mi Gallery, where the manufacturer added support for displaying 108 Mpix photos. But it was implemented only for devices with the code names "Tucano", "Draco", "Umi", and "Cmi". They will probably be divided between Mi and Redmi brands.
Such circumstantial evidence may not be sufficiently reliable for some observers in the industry, but why else would the manufacturer introduce the possibility of viewing such high resolution images if the camera in the phone could not reach a similar level?
Everything indicates that the manufacturer responsible for supplying the matrix to Xiaomi will be Samsung with its ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor. No competing supplier has yet presented anything to match it.
