Xbox Game Pass May Get a Family Plan
It's possible that the popular Xbox Game Pass service will get a so-called family plan in the future, which will enable several members of a single household to pay the subscription together.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Xbox's boss is considering enriching the Game Pass with a family plan, enabling family members to pay the subscription together;
- A similar solution is offered by Spotify;
- For the time being, it is not known if and when this option will actually appear.
It seems that Xbox Game Pass may receive a so-called family plan, reminiscent of what Spotify and Apple Music users, among others, already know. We are talking about a cheaper, common subscription for several residents of one household. The information appeared in the response of Phil Spencer - the boss of Xbox - to a tweet of one of the Internet users.
Phil Spencer emphasized that there is now a Home function available, which was created for such situations - it allows for sharing games with other residents using the same console. However, a family plan would help in cases where there are several Xboxes under one roof.
What's more, it is worth remembering that Xbox Game Pass has several variants. Apart from consoles, it can also be used on PCs. The subscription also has the Ultimate option, which offers access to its game catalogue on both the console and computer. Enabling family members to pay for this version of the subscription together could be enthusiastically received by many players.
Unfortunately, for the time being, it's also difficult to tell when - and if at all - Phil Spencer's tweet will turn into a real feature. We can only wait for more information.
