WoW Shadowlands Expansion Will be More Accessible to New Players
The director of World of Warcraft announces that the latest expansion for the game - Shadowlands - will provide a very low entry curve for new players. There will be a special storyline, which will introduce fresh users to the world of WoW.
World of Warcraft is a veteran when it comes to the MMORPG genre. Sixteen years under its belt and eight expansions, the last of which - Shadowlands - will debut this fall. The game is being systematically developed, with new content and lore being added, enabling Blizzard's work to retain its fans. However, the game's heavy baggage of history can be a big problem for players who would like to try this title for the first time.
Ion Hazzikostas, the director of World of Warcraft, decided to answer this problem, announcing that there will be a lot of improvements in the game, to help the newest WoW players learn about the world and basic mechanics.
One solution is to add a brand new introductory storyline called Exile's Reach. This "new player mode" is to present the Horde, the Alliance and the "the essence of World of Warcraft in 2020". New users will also be able to get an overview of all the skills, classes, basic quests and mechanics that will come in handy in the expansion.
Battle for Azeroth is the next challenge for players who comple the new "tutorial". It's "an accessible and standard story about the battles between Horde and Alliance, which will also provide introduction to World of Warcraft lore". After completing the prologue players should be prepared to face the expansion, equipped with knowledge of the world, mechanics and skills.
The release of the new add-on was announced for the end of 2020, while the beta-tests will start this week. It is worth reminding that the plot will focus on Sylvanas, the main antagonist who opened the portal to the world of the undead.
