WoW Classic Streamer Levels Up Horde Paladin in Record Time
World of Warcraft Classic lived to see the first Horde paladin at max level as part of The Burning Crusade Classic's pre-patch. A dozen hours was all it took for streamer Tommymaze to manage to get a Blood Elf to level 60.
Since Wednesday, fans of WoW Classic can enjoy the so-called pre-patch for The Burning Crusade Classic, preceding the debut of the first expansion to World of Warcraft in its classic incarnation. Thanks to this, both races from the expansion have already found their way into the game: Draenei and Blood Elves. Promptly - and how else - some players treated it as a challenge: who will manage to level up the new character to max level sooner? The winner turned out to be Tommymaze (BzmodeTwitch), who managed to reach the level cap with his Blood Elf as the first Horde Paladin in WoW Classic in just 14 hours and 28 minutes (via Reddit).
That's a much better time than the record-breaking Gnome player, who took 4 days to max out their character in 2019. However, it's important to remember that the pre-patch for Burning Crusade Classic lowered the number of experience points required to advance from level 20 to level 60 by 15%, which is quite an improvement. Of course, Tommymaze completed the challenge in a single, very long session of World of Warcraft Classic to "not waste" time on sleep.
In addition, the streamer used the help of friends with maxed out characters, which, thanks to sharing experience points within the group, quickly dealt with the first stage. Later, Tommymaze used the so-called mob tagging, which - in the shortest terms - consists of attacking a mob first and letting others finish it off (which, if we're not in a team, will make all the loot and experience go to our character). The fact that after more than 15 years the players have much more knowledge about WoW also helped.
Of course - as is usually the case in some speedrun categories - it's arguable whether the help of colleagues doesn't somehow disqualify Tommymaze. Nevertheless, it's still a big achievement for the streamer, who for now can enjoy his record. "For now", because perhaps he will join the next race, as soon as the release of The Burning Crusade Classic and Blizzard increases the level cap to 70.
We remind that after the release of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic players will have to decide on the fate of their characters: either stay with them in the basic version of the game, or permanently move to the world of the expansion. Of course, the latter option will make it impossible to return to WoW without the expansion packs. Alternatively, you can pay 15 Euros and clone your character to be available in both versions of WoW Classic.
